Synthèse
William Galbraith s'associe vers 1892 avec S. J. Carter pour former Carter, Galbraith and Company, une société d'importation et de marchand de gros de produits d'épicerie à Montréal. En 1900, il loue un immeuble situé sur la rue Saint-Pierre pour son commerce. En 1906, l'homme d'affaires achète le magasin-entrepôt de la succession de Alexander Urquhart pour y installer une nouvelle entreprise connue sous la raison sociale William Galbraith and Sons. La compagnie fait faillite en 1925 et le bâtiment est vendu, en 1926.
